Blue Orchid Bouquets

Blue orchid flowers in nature include the blue dendrobium, blue coerulescens and blue coerulea. Blue orchids have been very rare in the past but this has changed with hybridization. Today you can easily select a blue orchid as the prime flower for your wedding bouquet.

Blue orchids symbolize peace and strength.

Have a look at some more example of blue bouquets if blue is your wedding color here: Blue Bouquets

  3. I would love to have the dyed blue orchids in my wedding. Are these real dyed orchids or are they silk/fake orchids? Where did you get them from? I am having a tough time finding some.

  5. Really? Ask your local florist, they should easily be able to get them. I didnt know what flowers I wanted but am having blue bridesmaid dresses, so the florist suggested them to me. She said they are fantastic in a bouquet, and didnt mention there being any sort of trouble finding them. She always has them in stock in bunches of flowers in her store. They are fantastic!!

  9. The vivid blue orchids aren't dyed! They've become very popular & can be found in floral departments of grocery stores! If you're in a tight floral budget I'd check your florists price & ask how much (if any) they'd charge to incorporate your pre-purchased vibrant blue orchids. I'd then talk to the head florist & order the number of plants you'd need (ask how many blooms per plant) & have them delivered to the store 2 ordering/receiving dates before your florists stated date of beginning the arrangements for your wedding. This allows you to decline some plants & the grocery store to get more reshipped. Also, ask the grocery store to "pad" the order with plants they will keep (so you have extras to choose from)! The plants are running $19.99 currently & have 6-8 blooms per plant. Good luck!

    1. actually they are dyed. ive been a florist in the grocery industry for seven years. i am a certified master floral designer and they are definitely not natural. there are the fresh cut blue orchids...that are dyed. usually come ten stems to a bunch, running about $40. also there are the actual plants, injected at a certain point in the stem with blue/green/or purple. these run from $20 to $40 in the grocery store. these will eventually grow back with white blooms. at this point both types can be ordered year round. just saying...they ARE dyed.

  10. Hi there!
I've used these blue dendrobium orchids in three weddings so far (I'm a freelance floral designer in B.C.) and I order them from Costco. 5-6 stems in a bundle (5+ blooms per stem) for $10.99! For a couple hundred dollars you can have dozens and dozens of orchids! I've never had a problem with freshness either. The bottom bloom or two might get scrunched because they come packed in plastic sleeves, which I think they could improve on, but for the price, I can't complain! You only need three weeks in advance to place an order, and they can order in a variety of other flowers and greens too. If you're a DIYer then Costco is a great place to get your basic flowers affordably. By basic, I mean you can't be too picky with certain colors in certain flowers. You can order certain flowers in a specific color (like blue or purple orchids, purple or lime green mums), but if you want a Gerber daisy in a specific shade of red or orange, you will probably be disappointed so don't take the risk. I ordered purple Stock once (as a filler) and they sent purple Snapdragons as a replacement..but if you're easy going and on a tight budget then Costco flowers (actually Bloomstar working in the Costco chain) is a score! The good thing is they don't require you to pay for an order in advance. You can just pay when you pick up, and only for what you want. (important note, a Costco membership is required $50/year)
Have fun making your own bouquets!

  11. I searched for orchids on Costco.com under floral and there were no results :( Does anyone know of anywhere else to order them? My wedding is in July. Both I and the lady making my bouquets/centerpeices have been looking for them, but we are not having any luck.

    1. Try the website Save On Crafts. They have freeze dried orchids in blue. By far the most economical.

    2. Your local florist should be able to get them for you. They are readily available. You should pay $3-4 dollars a stem, if the designer is arranging them for you. If the florist isn't designing them they usually will sell them for $2.oo stem. They come in bunches of 10. They are dyed

  15. i have been looking for silk flowers just like these anyone know of a website? and what are freeze dried?

  16. i am so sorry to disapoint, i am a florist in a leading hotel in England AND have my own floral design company and can promise you a hundred percent that these orchids are dyed from the root at the start of the flowers life (making it an artificial colouring) i also am related to a flower grower in holland so trust me i know my stuff! i personally think that these orchids are tacky its a personal thing flowers should look natural to me. but horses for courses and strokes for boats i would prefere a natural cascade of blue vanda orchid heads on flexi grass (you can get a lovely bouquet for £50.00 i dont feel this is unreasonable and to budget you can make your own table centres and bridesmaid arrangements)
